Some of the poems have very light and erasable tiny marks next to title: either a check mark, an exclamation point or a question mark. This collection is the first in America to include "The Red Wheelbarrow" -- considered by many to be one of the greatest and most iconic poems to emerge from the American modernist-imagist movement. Its inclusion in Monroe Wheeler's Manikin series marks its first publication in the United States, preceded only by the exceedingly scarce collection Spring And All, published in Paris earlier in the same year in an edition of only 300 copies. Manikin Number Two in fact had half the print run of Spring and All, with only 150 copies printed, and is scarce today.
