New York: Oxford University Press, 1987 Hard cover, 8vo, in navy blue cloth with titles blocked in gold and red, Oxford insignia in blind, xvii, 402pp. Condition: Near Fine. Prior owner's remarks in pencil to front pastedown. Small line of occasional discoloration at photograph section appears to fore edge. Otherwise clean, bright and tight. Dr. Happold, was Senior Lecturer in Zoology at the Australian National University, Canberra Australia, and formerly Reader in Zoology, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. The work details the Author's encounters with a great variety of mammals found in the varied ecological areas of Nigeria, including mangrove swamps, rainforest, woodlands, grasslands and the Sahara desert, which he explored extensively in the 1960's and 1970's. Complete with line illustrations, charts, maps and black and white photos.. Hard Cover. Near Fine. Illus. by Meridith Happold.
