New York: Hurst & Company. Very Good. N.D.. This is one of the famous Horatio Alger series books popular at the turn of the 20th century. This copy published by Hurst is in the brown publisher's binding with a color pictorial cover depicting a boy running with a telegram with a train coming down the track in the background. This is undated, but probably circa 1910. Publisher's ads for other Alger books in uniform binding with this copy. There is some spotting to the bottom edge, but not to the interior pages of the book. One old owner name in pencil on the front paste down, and one small owner name and address on the rear paste down in ink. Color illustration clean and bright.; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 286 pages .
