HATFIELD BOOKS AND MEMORABILIA, a FIVE STAR SELLER, presents MAJOR WRITERS OF AMERICA, SHORTER EDITION. From Benjamin Franklin to William Faulkner, and all the great American writers in between, this book samples their work in 1,052 pages, including indices for both titles and first lines. 7 1/8" x 9 1/2", with no dust jacket (presumably as issued), may require additional postage. This "shorter edition" , edited by Jean Sisk, came out 4 years after the original "longer edition" of 1962, and as such it's a FIRST EDITION THUS, FIRST PRINTING THUS. Overall condition is VERY GOOD PLUS. Pages = Very Good: tanning to edges, owner's name and addy on front reverse cover, penned note on first fep, else white, clear, tight, sharp, with no additional marks. Cover (navy blue cloth boards with silver gilt design and gold particulars) = Very Good Plus: 3 small creases spine, one inch scratch on right front, yet titles clear, tight, square, no tears, chips or unraveling .
