Paris: Editions Alexis Sinjon, 1928. First edition. Hardcover. vg- to vg+. Small folio. [3] + 56 loose plates. Beige buckram over brown paper-covered boards portfolio, with black lettering on the front cover. Beige string ties. The portfolio houses a three page text insert followed by 56 loose plates, containing photogravure reproductions after photographs of Basque homes, towns and villages. This part, deals with the Spanish provinces of Navarre, Biscay, Guipuzcoa, and Alava, all considered part of the greater Basque region, displaying both interior and exterior design and architectural styles. There are some interesting street scenes as well. Each photo has a descriptive caption underneath. Text in French. Portfolio with minor rubbing to extremities and a few smudges. A small closed tear at the head of the spine. Interior front cover with some small smudges. Minor age toning to the edges of the plates. Minor sporadic smudges in the margins of a few plates throughout. Images clean and bright. Portfolio in very good-, plates in very good+ condition overall. * "J. &. J. Soupre, Architectes" (firm).
