About This Item
Cleveland: The Arthur Westbrook Company, (1908), but c.1912. 97, [2]pp. "Beadle's Frontier Series" No. 21. Pictorial chromolithographic wraps; side stapled. 7 x 5 inches. Printed on pulp paper. Brief wear at head and tail of spine; small losses at corners of some leaves, not affecting text; brief separation of rear wrapper along upper joint; good to very good.
Twenty-first title in "Beadle's Frontier Series" of dime novels first published 1908-1910, but here re-issued by Arthur Westbrook c.1912.
The plot involves the Native American Chiricahui Comanche tribe and is set in the Colorado River Valley in the Llano Estacado or Staked Plains region of eastern New Mexico and northwestern Texas.
The somewhat incongruous cover shows what appear to be Kentucky-like frontiersmen with buckskin fringed coats and leggings and a powder horn.
