Contents clean and binding sound. 1st Edition, second issue. Condition: Good+. Dust jacket: Fair. Insect nibbling to front cover and edges. Edge-wear with numerous small open and closed tears, nicks and creasing. Grubby marks. Sunning to spine. Binding: Hardcover. Some edge-wear to extremities.
Synopsis
To fearless Madeline, a trip to the hospital is a splendid adventure. One of the most loved books in children’s literature, this story was a Caldecott Honor Book in 1940 and a subsequent book in the Madeline series, Madeline's Rescue , earned a Caldecott Medal in 1954. Written and illustrated by Ludwig Bemelmans in 1939, Madeline has continued to charm readers throughout the years with its beautiful drawings of Paris and spirited heroine.

i absolutely adore this book. its one of those few books created for both children and adults; i actually am not bored when i read this book to kids. the rhyming is superb. story length is perfect and it makes a great read aloud.the type of book kids can keep on coming back to.great read ,all in all.
