New York: Doubleday & Co., Crime Club, 1965. First U.S. edition, originally published as "The Barrakee Mystery." The first Insp. Napolean Bonaparte mystery. Ex-library with stamps, a pocket in the front and a sticker on the jacket spine. Spine slightly cocked, gently bumped. Tape remains on the boards. Scuffs on the front end papers from previous pocket or stamp pad removal. Some library stamps inked out. Text clean, binding solid. Jacket lightly rubbed and edgeworn with small chips and tears, including a 1 1/2" tear and crease at the upper front spine fold which has an external tape repair. Spine faded, price intact, in new mylar. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Good/Good. Ex-Library.
