About This Item
Hamburg: Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft, 1974. Reprint of the 1970 edition. NEAR FINE. HATFIELD BOOKS AND MEMORABILIA, a FIVE STAR SELLER, presents the Bicentennial Edition of LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN. This is a handsome, oversized (12 3/4" x 12 1/2", will require additional postage) volume is the size of a 33 1/3 LP for a reason--it originally accompanied the issuing of a complete LP set of the Beethoven nine symphonies by Deutsche Grammophon. In its 276 pages are contained a detailed biography of the master composer, detailed analyses of his works, approximately 200 illustrations (roughly 2/3 of which are in color, and many of which are full-page). There is no dust jacket. Overall book is NEAR FINE. Pages (first and last reverse covers and first and last fep's are dark red to match the cover) = FINE: 2 water marks on outer edges, else very tight, white, sharp and square with no markings. Cover (dark red cloth boards with paste on photo of a sculpture of Beethoven front and all particulars in gold gilt) = very good: several small stains on back, and bottom of front, else tight, sharp very clear and colorful, square.
