A section of the front free endpaper torn out below the inscriptions from the author and the previous owners of the book. The jacket is chipped and edge-worn with several small tears. Age toning or discoloration apparent. Protected now in a new mylar cover. 248 pages with Bibliography and Index. Illustrated with several black & white photo reproductions of paintings. The author has inscribed the book "To Evelyn and Ike..." Below her inscription, a gift inscription to the same people. Below that, the page has been cut out. Laid in the book are brochures and a ticket for a Museum of Fine Arts, Houston exhibit: John James Audubon, The Watercolors for Birds of America..
