About This Item

Cincinnati: Stewart & Kidd Company, 1913. This is a Near Fine copy of the Second Impression [stated "Second Impression June 1913"] from six months after the initial printing. This is the "Authorized Edition" with translation from the Swedish by Velma Swanston Howard. Black cloth binding, ruled on the front cover; titling in gilt on the spine and front cover. Clean text; 176 pages; red topstain; with a five-page catalog in the rear. Frontis etching of Strindberg and a reproduction of Strindberg's permission for the English rights to translation. The dustjacket is complete and unclipped, with some chipping at the margins and a darkened spine. In an archival plastic protector. [There is a bibliomystery with this book: the foot of the spine bears the name of a different publisher: Appleton - who did not purchase Stewart & Kidd until 1924.]. Second Impression. Hard Cover. Near Fine/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
