About This Item
London: Faber & Faber, 1973. reprint. Nice Copy. octavo. dust jacket ix + 208pp., bibliog., index, Kitson witnessed Britain's counter insurgency campaigns inKenya, Cyprus and the Northern Ireland and he formalised much of the approach militarily dominant powers like Britain and Israel should take to their militarily weaker opponents. He stresses the use of psychological warfare, fifth columns, double agents and anything that weakens or demoralises the enemy or cuts off their logistics. Kitson was an officer in the SAS & may have been responsible for dubious activities, possibly war crimes in Northern Ireland; his ideas were also used to terrorise ethnic minorities, especially black Londoners in the 1970s
