Period binding by Zaehnsdorf of full green straight-grain morocco with raised bands, ornate, finely tooled, gilt design on spine and inner dentelles, gilt rules. Top edge gilt. Green silk endpapers. From the Library of the noted American collector and bibliographer, Major William W. Van R. Whitall, with his small gilt decorated leather bookplate on front pastedown. Joints and corners a little rubbed. Very good indeed. Attractive binding.
