Boston Crosby Nichols & Co, 1856, hardcover. Compiled and translated from the French by [butterfly engraving of the pseudonym] Tranermantel. -- Six color plates. Presented for young people, Poland history, the 17th century king, and historical legend of the 14th century queen. Also section on "Traditions of Polish History." -- Publisher's catalog at rear 4 pp. Gift ownership dated Christmas 1859. -- Hardcover, brown cloth with blind-stamped and gold design front and rear covers, AEG all-edges-gilt. Condition: good-plus (cover is rubbed at edges and some to surface; spine a little sunned, lettering and decoration dulled). Pages and plates are quite bright, and binding is tight.
