New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1992. First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. 8vo 8" - 9" tall. Stated First Edition, a collection of three stories, "Fois Gras," "Shepherds," and "Blackbird Summer." Sturdy, attractive, tightly bound in hardcover format, generally clean, lightly toned at worst, minimal rubbing to extremities. Bound handsomely in burgundy cloth over boards, sharp and distinct lettering to spine. Top-stained in green. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, little worn, though price-clipped. Frontis matter, 3-307 pp. The author was well-known for writing many volumes of poetry and essays, and split his time between Maui, Hawai'i, where he lived primarily, and a stone chateaeux in the South of France. Fine stories of food and culture, local personalities.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards.
