Acknowledgements, Introduction: Climbing High Mountains, Trying to Get Home, selected discography, general bibliography and index. Green coloured end pages. The text is illustrated with black-and-white photography throughout. Pale green coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Photographic dustwrapper (wraparound) with black coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. "Lost Highway tells the story of a special group of American artists: the musicians who create and perform country blues music and those who mix the two to create the explosive sound called rockabilly, which was virtually defined by Elvis Presley and Sun Records in the mid-fifties. These were the styles that transformed American popular music and transfigured its audience." – from the front fold over panel blurb. Softening of the backstrip edges; rubbing, bumping and fraying of the book corners. Some rubbing and fading of the book panels. Some stains and marks to the textblock edges and there is an erosion of the front text edge – please see photograph. Scattered foxing throughout the text. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and of the backstrip edges. Small splits either side of the backstrip and there is quite noticeable fading also present. Rubs, marks and some creases to the dustwrapper panel. Foxing and stains to the verso of the dustwrapper.
