Contains three stories by the author best known for Conan the Barbarian. These stories feature Steve Harrison, Howard's hard-boiled private detective as he confronts Erlik Khan, a villain influenced by Sax Rohmer's Fu Manchu. Includes the first hardcover publication of two stories - "The Lord of the Dead" and "Names in the Black Book" - and the first publication of "The Mystery of Tannerhoe Lodge," a story completed by Fred Blosser. Introduction by Robert E. Briney. Illustrated with one double page spread, nine full page drawings and many small vignettes and decorations by Duncan Eagleson. 186 pp plus a final drawing.

Synopsis

Lord of the Dead is a collection of crime short stories by Robert E. Howard. It was first published in 1981 by Donald M. Grant, Publisher, Inc. in an edition of 1,250 copies. The stories are pastiches of Sax Rohmer.
