Hardback narrow octavo, no jacket, very good condition, red brown board cover, black & white drawings (some full-page), minor toning title page, staple holes top corner tip front free flyleaf, minor edgewear. 80 pp. An Australian illustrated collection of recipes by Helen Arbib as related to the history of cooking worldwide. The book grew out of Helen Arbib's weekly ABC radio talks plus her experience as food editor of Pol magazine. Illustrated by Michael Lodge. (There are two editions with the same ISBN. 1: 'Looking at Cooking', by Helen Arbib Publications. A forerunner to her popular later Terrace Times cookbook series. 2. Later, reissued as No 4 in the Terrace Times cook book series, also titled 'Looking at Cooking'.) This copy is the first edition.
