About This Item

New York and London: Macmillan Publishing Company / Collier Macmillan Publishers, 1971. First Edition. Hardcover with Dust Jacket. Near Fine/Near Fine. Tana Hoban. Reprint. 4to. Unpaginated. A photo-concept book with the author's black and white photography throughout. A die-cut on an overleaf page allows viewing of an abstract detail of the ensuing photograph, which is then revealed when the page is turned. Bound in black half-cloth over black paper-covered boards, gilt lettering on spine. With the photo-illustrated dust jacket, unclipped, but with a couple chips on the rear panel. Hoban's work is featured in MOMA's permanent collection, and this book was an ALA "Notable" when first published in 1971. Uncommon in any edition in the dust jacket. Dust jacket is now protected in a clear, removable, archival sleeve.
