About This Item

Boston: David R. Godine, 1989. First edition thus. Paperback. Very Good. From the estate of John and Mary Cheever -- no ownership marks but with a folded piece of Cheever's letterhead laid in. 1989. First Nonpareil Books edition, a reprint of the 1980 Knopf original of a work that originally appeared in The New Yorker magazine in October 1979. Paperback, 8vo., 135 pp. Very good. Light foxing to edges of text-block; fading to spine. The letterhead bears a Cheever residence in Boston, but the provenance for this volume was his personal library at his home in Ossining, NY.
