About This Item
New York: Henry Holt, 1959. First Edition, First Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 5 5/8 X 8 1/4 Inches. Stated "First Edition" on the copyright page. Original price of $3.95 intact on front flap. Signed and inscribed by Sullivan in the year of publication. This copy inscribed for Fugitive Poet Donald Davidson - "For Donald Davidson, My friend and teacher. In gratitude and affection, Walter Sullivan / May 27, 1959." Although Sullivan missed the bandwagon to be a member of the early Fugitive poets, he most certainly carried on the legacy for another five decades. Like Davidson, Sullivan was a Professor at Vanderbilt University for much of his career. Light scuffing to jacket edges and folds.
