About This Item

London: Robert Hale Limited, 1948. First UK edition. harcover cloth. Very Good. The logabook of a whaler hunting in Antarctic early in the 20th century. Murphy was the scentist aboard the ship. THe notes that Murphy kept were intended for his new bride (Grace) and are a complete narrative--not just a "log." Murphy became a distinguised orthinologist and a curator at the AMerican Museum of Natural History.

COver slightly faded but otherwise almost like new. The front over features a gilt sailing ship (brig). Gilt lettering on green cloth.
