About This Item
Grosset & Dunlap. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. ca 1930s; the copyright page is dated as per the original 1923 edition from publisher George H. Doran, but advertisements at the back panel of the DJ indicate a 1930s printing: the last-published title advertised is 'A Dog Named Chips' (1931), but it also mentions the title 'Further Adventures of Lad,' which was retitled 'Dog Stories Every Child Should Know' in 1941. Red cloth with black titling, blind-stamped decoration to front panel. Cloth very good with light edgewear, lightly bumped spine ends. Spine square. Binding sound. Dust jacket good in Mylar, toned, scuffed, stained, with moderate edgewear, including tape repair at spine ends and additional tape repairs along edges to reverse. Some spotting to textblock edges. Pages tanned, small staining to top margin of pages 186-191; interior else clean, free of markings.
