Remarkable pictorial work on Palestine and the Holy Land, magnificently illustrated with coloured chromo title page, 58 tinted full-page lithographic plates after David Roberts, and one folding map at rear. Text is in French.
BINDING
Quarto. 2, 232pp. Original 1/4 green leather with green embossed paper sides, with gilt lettering and tooling on spine. All edges marbled. Dark pink and brown marbled endpapers.
Decorative Chromo Litho Title page . Vignette on printed title page. Decorative initials to chapters and vignettes to chapter ends. Spacious margins.
CONDITION
Good solid binding, no loose pages. Rubbing along edges of binding, with minor abrasion to leather. Mild toning and occasional spotting commensurate with age.
