Chicago: Goldsmith, 1934. First edition thus. Hardcover. Fine/very good. Hardcover in red cloth lettered in black. The movie edition issued to coincide with the 1934 release of the Mascot Pictures film starring Frankie Darro and David Durand. 253 pp. This edition is not illustrated; the color tinted scene from the film appaers on the dust jacket alont, along with a blurb in the lower corner of the front panel and across the spine advertising the movie and its stars. A fine, tight copy, pages embrowned as usual; oddly there is a fairly modern unused bookplate affixed to the upper portion of the rear blank. In the orignal dust jacket as described above, Shallow chip to the head of the spine, some sunninmg to the spine but with front panel colors bright, short tear top of rear panel.
Synopsis
Little Men, or Life at Plumfield with Jo's Boys is a novel by American author Louisa May Alcott, first published in 1871. The novel reprises characters from Little Women and is considered by some the second book of an unofficial Little Women trilogy, which is completed with Alcott's 1886 novel Jo's Boys, and How They Turned Out: A Sequel to "Little Men". Little Men tells the story of Jo Bhaer and the children at Plumfield Estate School.
