About This Item
New York: E.P.Dutton, 1961. First Edition . Cloth Without Dustjacket. SIGNED BY PATRICK DENNIS. One of the great camp works of the early 60's is this satire and parody on the life and ups and downs of Maybelle Schlumfert, an overdeveloped and self-deluded girl who rises to become Belle Poitrine star of stage screen and television. The highlight are the many photographs by Chris Alexader and features the likes of Alice Pearce, Kaye Ballard and others in this tale that was once considered very risque. There is also a gift inscription in green ink on the half title page along with the rare Patrick Dennis signature. Lacking the dustjacket, there is some light wear to the cloth including wear to the edges, the insides are vg or better. Dennis's signature is quite rare. Vg. .
