This copy has a brief written letter signed by Hubbard, the envelope for which is affixed to front fixed endpaper. "March 25th 1904, Dear Mr. [William R.] Anderson: - About all the really good men in America are "Immortals" but you. Is it an oversight? - Elbert Hubbard". There is some scattered pencil underlining to the main text. Previous owner's bookplate and small date stamp on front fixed endpaper.
