About This Item
New York, NY Charles Scribner's Sons, 1907. Hardcover First Edition Thus (1907), Later Printing (1908). Very Good: shows very light wear to the extremities; mild rubbing; very slight spine lean; sunning to the red cloth over boards at the backstrip (the gilt titles thereon remain bold and clearly legible, but perhaps not so bold as when the book was new); former owner's name (or is that a scribble) has been nearly completely erased at the upper front free endpaper; faint water stain at the backstrip and some small faint stains at the front panel. The binding remains secure; the text is clean. Free of underlining, hi-lighting, notations, or marginalia. Free of creased or dog-eared pages in the text. A handsome copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing mild wear and minor unobtrusive flaws. Despite these flaws, remains clean, sturdy, and quite presentable. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. 12mo. (7.4 x 5.2 x 1.1 inches). xxviii, 456 pages. Translated with Introuctions by William Archer. Language: English. Weight: 19.4 ounces. Rust-Red cloth over boards with gilt embossed autograph of the author at the front panel and gilt titles at the backstrip. First Edition Thus (1907), Later Printing (1908). Hardback: No DJ 'as issued'.
