Despite his fear of darkness and the rough terrain, he trudges on determined to see the baby King born in the stable, The animals he meets along the way make discouraging remarks and remind him that he is just a lowly donkey. Some animals push him aside and snarl at him. Stumbling along and feeling worthless, he longs for guidance. Suddenly a host of angels appear and guides him to the stable where the baby Jesus welcomes him with outstretched arms.
