About This Item
London: Partridge and Oakey, 1852. 2nd Edition, Revised & Enlarged . Hardcover. Good +/No Jacket. This is a Second Edition, "revised, corrected, and materially enlarged." The pages are crisp and show minimal signs of wear with only ocasional smudges or creases. The top edge of the textblock has darkened. The fixed front endpaper has a bookplate from the Benjamin Wales Library (Carillon, Quebec, with donor name). There is also an ownership stamp on the front and back fixed end pages for the Historical Society of Argenteuil County. The brown covers are whole but worn, with wear at edges and corners, some scuffing to the embossed detailing, and wear and cracking to the spine edges, with some paper showing. The gold embosed title on the spine is worn, and no longer shiny. Overall, a usable, and still quite presentable copy. The attached scan gives a better idea of overall condition.
