About This Item
Stephen Leacock (1869-1944) was a world-renowned Canadian author known in particular for his humorous essays. Having immigrated to Canada at the age of six, he went on to received a PhD from the University of Chicago and ultimately taught at McGill University in Montreal until his retirement. Literary Lapses collects some of his best stories, demonstrating his unique ability to find humour in the quotidian as well as his skill in inventing comically unique vignettes.
Book may be described as a Binding copy. Spine and board edges show signs of wear, and there is bumping to the corners, with the paper covering worn off the corners. Front hinge is very loose, and endpapers have separated. Back hinge is also loose, and endpapers beginning to separate. Pages still relatively firmly attached to binding, and very firmly to each other. A nice starting place for someone wanting to begin a collection of this notable author's works.
