London: William Andrews & Co, 1898. Morocco. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Printed by the author in 1898. Size Octavo, 8.25" x ", 240 pages including index. Rebound in full red morocco with five raised bands to the spine, with gilt titles in the second and third compartments, all edges gilt, green marbled endpapers. Condition very good plus, binding is in near fine condition, tiny split in leather at head of spine, else fine, internal condition very good plus, a few spots to margins of some plates, old faint gift inscription to half title, else contents clean. Twenty one essays on various aspects of literature. With autograph inscription on an envelope tipped in - that of Thomas Cooper, chartist, lecturer and author. With 1 coloured plate, and 2 further plates, 2 coloured portraits and 20 further portraits of various authors.
