Hardcover. 319p., first edition, eight line inscription dated February 12, 1963 to "Best wishes to Jack Yashika, Nickie and Eric the violent" signed in full by Hallinan, spine faded else good condition lacking the jacket. "...tells of the circumstances that prompted him to assume the role of chief defense counsel in the 1950 trial of Harry Bridges when he was being tried for irregularities allegedly committed by him and others in applying for citizenship.
