Something blacked out on paste-down, else fine. Bound in grey paper-wrapped boards with red titles on spine, spotless, very clean, sound and tight binding, square with sharp corners. Pages edges and internals very clean, free from any markings, no creases . Black jacket is clean with light wear to edges/corners. The 87th Precinct detectives have several murders and rapes to solve--two runners on a track team are murdered and someone is systematically raping different women two and three times in succession. Ed McBain once again shows how patient, hard-working professionals with golden shields cope with crime and killers. 243 pages. 5.75 x 8.5 inches. Arbor House, New York, 1984.
