Includes a 217-page biography of Lincoln with a chronology of his life by Philip Van Doren Stern, who edited this work. Introduction by Allan Nevins. --- In Toledano spine G5 / pale green cloth / gilt titling & ML torchbearer oval on green cover & spine blocks / green topstain / GB 'quad arisocrat' endpapers / lacks the dust jacket. Likely published c.1945-62 (though 1940 date appears in book). ML #G20.2. --- With white specks to front and back covers, prior owner's signature and info in pencil to front free endpaper and somewhat age-toned leaves, otherwise a sound copy. A loosened front hinge has been carefully repaired on this item.; Octavo - 8 to 9 in. tall; xxvi, 863 pages .
