About This Item

Boston: Houghton and Mifflin. Very Good with no dust jacket. 1911. Hardcover. Camillo Paolo Filippo Giulio Benso, Count of Cavour, Isolabella and Leri (1810 – 1861), generally known simply as "Cavour" was an Italian statesman and a leading figure in the movement toward Italian unification. Pagination: 604 p., 562 p. This set is bound in 3/4 leather with brown leather spine and corners over marbled covers. Each volume has five raised bands with gilt lettering and decoration in the panels between the bands. The top edges are gilt. Marbled end papers (each book has a previous owner's bookplate on the front paste down). Wear to extremities, and light cracking to leather along outer joints; the joints are holding well, and there is no cracking or splitting to interior hinges. The pages are clean and bright with no foxing or staining, and there are no markings to the interior or exterior. Some pages are still unopened indicating that this set was probably never read. This set looks very pretty on the shelf.; B&W Illustrations, maps; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall .
