New York: United States Publishing Company, 1868, 1868 Good/No Jacket Maroon cloth with gilt title decoration and spine. Engraved frontis portraits of Seymour and Blair. Lives of the Governor of New York (Seymour), nominated as Democratic candidate for President in 1868, and General Francis Blair of Missouri, nominated as Democratic Party candidate for Vice-President the same year. Includes Civil War accounts (Blair) and speeches about the issues of the period. Moderate-to-heavy rubbing of cover extremities; spine moderately sunned and rubbed, with some loss of gilt brightness; boards rubbed and with few moderate scratches. Endpapers irregularly brownstained/foxed, and with library marks as follows: remnant of pocket to inside rear cover; inkstamp and penciled "presented by" inscription inside front cover. Prior owner name, place, and date in ink second blank front endpaper. Interior otherwise clean and tight.
