About This Item
London: Chatto & Windus, 1899. Cloth Hardcover. Very Good with no dust jacket. The pages are clean except for two prior owners' ink stamps on the front endpapers, a brown spot in the right margins of the first several leaves and additional spots scattered in other margins, e.g. at pp.202-212, along with modest toning in the margins throughout. The binding is modestly relaxed, but secure. The full blue cloth cover, titled and decorated in gilt, shows some softening and small fabric tears at corners and spine ends, a few clear droplet spots on the front, and some surface scuffing around all edges and along verticals, but remains vivid and striking, with only gentle wear to the bottom band of decoration at the spine and all other gilt still bright.
