Top edges gilt. Illustrated with black & white plates. Frontispieces. Corners lightly bumped; some corners a little frayed. Spine of volume 1 has remains of a name written in pencil and a small spot; spine of vol. 2 has a small spot. Spine ends bumped and lightly worn. Hinges a bit loose, but NOT cracked. Top edges lightly faded. Name and gift inscription in pencil on front free endpaper of vol. 1. A few numbers in pencil on rear endpaper of vol. 3. All volumes marked "First edition after printing of 377 de luxe copies" vol. 1, 1922, 436 pages; vol. 2, 1922, 437 pages; vol. 3, 1925, 440 pages.
