London: Hodder and Stoughton, 1951. 1st Edition . Cloth. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Blue hardcover, the covers are clean, slight fading/rubbing on the spine, the hinges are in good order. Clean internally, a few minor foxing spots on the endpapers. Contains 22 sheets of plates + text diagrams & facsimile letter, 488 pages, retains the front cover of the dust jacket. Armorial bookplate of W.J. Winter-Taylor on the endpaper(and inscription to him on the endpaper opposite).
