Brown cloth covered boards with gold spine titles; edges worn with boards exposed; external hinge split with backstrip unglued from spine, rear external hinge starting; 1/2" of crown missing with a 1/4" loss at base of spine; 12mo - over 6 3/4" to 7 3/4" tall; two gift inscriptions on and opposite of half title page; gutter cracked at half title page with first signature partially detached; oval shaped portrait frontispiece with tissue guard; pages toning; pages 138-140 have 2 small chips in edge of pages; stains found on pages 25-35, with heaviest being on pages 34-35; rear hinge intact; no internal markings; 453 pages.
