About This Item
London : Elek Books, (1964). First edition. "Doreen Tovey's grandmother first appeared in Cats in the Belfry, from which she will be remembered as the indomitable character who kept an owl on the bathroom door and insisted on her daughter Louisa taking a squirrel to bed with her". Illustrated by Michael ffolkes (1925-1988). Demy 8vo (23cm). (168pp). Numerous illustrations, some full-page, by ffolkes. Original red boards, lettered in gilt; a few internal marks and spots, but a good copy in the ffolkes dust-jacket - the jacket price-clipped, but with only minor wear and a few short repaired tears.
