Cassell, Petter, Galpin & Co., 1111. Hardcover. Acceptable. No Edition Remarks. 776 pages. No dust jacket. Brown cloth with gilt lettering and designs. Colour illustrated frontispiece with black and white illustrated plates throughout. Ex Libris plate to front free endpaper. Heavy foxing and tanning to pages and plates- text remains legible. Hinges are cracked with the netting exposed but pages remain attached. Boards have moderate corner bumping and edge-wear with visible scuffing and fraying overall. Spine has heavy crushing, splitting and fraying to ends and joints with visible creasing. Lettering remains bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean. Water staining and bleaching to rear board. Visible marking overall.
