The thrilling life of Peter Wilkins, a Cornish man who takes to the sea to escape a complicated life. After being captured by a French privateer and sold into slavery on the African coast, he escapes, successfully navigates a course through snapping crocodiles and lions, steals a Portuguese ship, and sets sail once again. Written by Robert Paltock, an English novelist and attorney, best known for this work. Illustrated by Edward Bawden, an English painter, illustrator and graphic artist, known for his prints, book covers, and posters. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, smart with light rubbing and minor bumping to the extremities. Light fading to the spine and the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright with the odd small spot or handling mark. Age toning to the endpapers. Very Good
