Each vol has different frontpiece illustration with tissue guard: Vol. 1 is portrait photo of young Lincoln, Vol. 2 is full-length portrait photo of Mary Todd Lincoln, Vol. 3 is illustration of Lincoln bust, Vol. 4 is portrait photo of Pres. Lincoln with beard. Some slight rubbing to top and bottom edges. Corners slightly worn. Previous owner's book plates on inside front covers. Square, tight, and very clean pages First Edition, Copyright 1900 By Doubleday & McClure Co. Octavo - 6" x 9". A lovely first edition set.
