About This Item
New York: Baker, Voorhis. Full leather. xxxi, 402 pp. Separation along one spine edge, hinge tender but holding, edge chipping on spine, cover staining, signed by Jonathan Holdeen (Aug 17 1937), Good Minus. Jonathan Holdeen (1881-1967), who resided in Pine Plains and had an office in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., was the eccentric, penny-pinching, millionaire lawyer who set up 2.8 million dollars in trusts to make Pennsylvania a tax-free state (an idea inspired by Benjamin Franklin).
