Hardcover has light blue paper-covered boards with tan cloth-covered spine and a paper spine label. Edges of spine label are chipped. Deckle fore and bottom edges. Front hinge cracked, webbing showing, intact. Spine ends bumped, especially bottom front corner at spine. Spine sunned. Covers have light surface and edge wear. Edges of covers tanned; covers have a few light smudges. Endpapers lightly foxed and tanned. Pages clean and unmarked. Title page and opposite page have elaborate Celtic knot work design border in blue. Each chapter has a large initial letter with a Celtic knot work border and background. 398 pages. No dust jacket. Printed in Great Britain by Hazell, Watson & Viney, Ltd. Carefully packed, shipped in a box.
