It is a work for landed gentry and husbandmen on the hazards implicit in an economy tolerant of republican principals. It includes a plan for the organization of national militia and is said to have been heartily approved by the English Whig administration, also by Edmund Burke'. A French translation from the second English edition was issued in Brussels in 1793, from which the Quebec production was probably reprinted.
