About This Item
Los Angeles: Alert Duplicating Service, 1968. Wraps. Near fine. Signed by Ray Bradbury on the front cover, with a handwritten letter from Bradbury bibliographer and archivist Donn Albright to Bradbury collector and publisher Herb Yellin ("Here's something I think you must not have.") laid in alongside an original 8" x 10" photograph of Albright, Bradbury, and Yellin, which is signed and dated by Bradbury.
The script for a radio adaptation of Bradbury's Moby Dick in outer space narrative, a work he returned to time and again, first as this radio play (written in 1966 and produced by the BBC in 1968), then as a stage play, an opera, an unproduced screenplay, and finally, as a novella.
Quarto: [1], 46, [1] leaves, photomechanically reproduced on the rectos only. Bound with brads in printed yellow paper wrappers (8 ½" x 11"). The final text page includes the publisher's information, which places Alert Duplicating at 8014 West Third Street with a ten-digit phone number (the name of the company, address, and phone number help date this to the late 1960s, based on comparisons with other Bradbury plays printed by Alert. Some light toning along the extremities; else near fine.
