UK: John Murray, 1926. Second series, vols. 1-3, first two volumes published in 1926 (covering the period 1862-1878), the third volume published 1928 (1879-1885), red cloth with gilt lettering and decoration, gilt and white monogram with crown to front, gilt to spines dulled and colour faded to brown, spine ends and corners pushed/worn, edges dusty and foxed (rough-trimmed at bottom), top edge of vol. 1 has some damp-staining that hasn't penetrated to the pages, slight browning to endpapers, minor foxing internally, illustrations with tissue guards (browned); ownership name to front free endpaper in all volumes, vol. 1 has the date of the King's death (1936) in ink to title page, pencilled annotations (mostly erased), small stain to lower edge of pages in the preface, erratum slip to list of illustrations, hand-painted illustration of flowers above heading for chapter 1; vol. 2 has cracking to front hinge near frontispiece, and another strain to stitching (binding secure). Extra postage required.. First Edition. Hardcover. Good.
